About

I’m a highly experienced delivery and results focused User Experience Designer with a career spanning Parliament, Calderdale Council, new media agencies and the BBC

Covering everything from large end-to-end projects to day-to-day site optimisation and management, I’ve consistently delivered measurable improvements in SEO, usability, conversion and cost reduction.
Whilst managing the User Experience Team for Radio & Music at the BBC I led the implementation of a User Centered Design Process and delivered the original version of the BBC’s Radio Player.

I’ve overseen the design and information architecture of the Parliament website – significantly improving usability, discovery of content and SEO.

I managed the Web Team for Calderdale Council where I was responsible for the development of a transactional website, which increasingly delivers strategic value and achieving cost reductions year on year.

I implemented a user centred approach that’s dramatically improved use and discoverability of key services whilst reducing operating costs.
Improvements I’ve led to the design, structure, copy and usability of key sites and processes has helped the Council channel shift 32% of users from costly telephony operations into efficient online processes.
